Our Commitment

The International Council for Safety Professionals (ICSPS) is committed to ensuring equal access and opportunity for all learners, clients, and partners. We believe that professional safety and skills training should be accessible to everyone, regardless of ability, and we strive to create an inclusive environment in all aspects of our operations.

This statement outlines our ongoing commitment to accessibility and the measures we take to ensure our training services, materials, and communications are as accessible as possible.

Scope

This statement applies to our core business activities, including but not limited to:

  • Delivery of accredited training courses and qualifications.
  • Learner support and communication.
  • Assessment and certification processes.
  • Physical training venues (where applicable).
  • Digital resources and communication channels.

Our Approach to Accessibility

We are actively working to implement and improve accessibility across our services. Our approach is guided by the following principles:

1. Communication and Learner Support

  • We communicate clearly and directly, avoiding unnecessary jargon where possible.
  • We encourage prospective and current learners to inform us of any accessibility requirements, learning differences, or adjustments needed during the enrolment process and throughout their training.
  • Our support team (support@icsps.uk) is available to discuss individual needs confidentially and work collaboratively to find suitable solutions.

2. Training Delivery and Materials

  • Course Materials: We strive to provide learning resources in accessible formats upon request. This may include large-print manuals, digital text suitable for screen readers, or alternative formats as needed.
  • In-Person & Virtual Training: We consider the accessibility of our chosen training venues and virtual platforms. For scheduled courses, we will provide specific venue accessibility information upon request.
  • Instruction: Our trainers are encouraged to use inclusive teaching methods and are briefed on supporting diverse learner needs.

3. Assessment and Reasonable Adjustments

  • ICSPS is committed to fair assessment. We comply with the regulatory requirements of our awarding bodies to provide Reasonable Adjustments and Special Considerations for learners with disabilities, temporary injuries, or other specific needs that may affect assessment performance.
  • We work with learners and our centre staff to implement approved adjustments, which may include, but are not limited to: extra time, use of assistive technology, adapted assessment formats, or a separate room.

4. Physical Access

  • For courses held at our own or partner venues, we seek to use locations with step-free access, accessible toilet facilities, and suitable lighting/acoustics. Specific accessibility information for a venue can be provided before booking.

5. Digital Accessibility

  • While our primary business is training delivery (not a public website), we aim for any digital documents, emails, or resources we directly control to be created with accessibility in mind (e.g., using heading structures, alt text for images, and sufficient colour contrast).

Feedback and Requests for Adjustments

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of our services. If you encounter any barriers or wish to discuss adjustments:

  1. During Enquiry/Booking: Please inform our team of any accessibility requirements when you make an enquiry or book a course.
  2. For Existing Learners: Contact your course tutor or our support team as soon as possible to discuss your needs.
  3. General Feedback: To provide feedback on our accessibility, suggest an improvement, or request this statement in an alternative format, please contact us.
